Internships

HFP regularly provides internship opportunities to students and volunteers.  HFP interns are graduate and undergraduate students studying public health, nursing, medicine, and many other subjects. Sometimes HFP recruits interns from specific academic programs. In other cases, interns have contacted HFP on their own seeking a placement. In the past, interns have worked on a variety of substantive projects, including:

  • Creating a Program Director Orientation Manual for the National Health Corps and helping to develop the Philadelphia Health Corps website. 
  • Creating and implementing a survey to assess the availability of trauma treatment services in Philadelphia for children 0-5. 
  • Developing a comprehensive emergency preparedness plan, including evacuation, sheltering in place, and continuity of operations.

Philadelphia Health Corps

Philadelphia Health Corps recruits approximately 20 members each summer/fall who are interested in making a year-long commitment to community service. Members are placed at community-based organizations in Philadelphia that work to improve access to care and to help individuals and communities become healthier.
