HFP's Resource Center supports community-based programs by making a wide range of print and audiovisual health education materials available for use with program clients.
Bulk copies of pamphlets and brochures on health-related topics are provided for distribution at no direct cost to non-profit agencies serving low-income women, children and families in Philadelphia. Topics include: general health, pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, family planning, sexually transmitted diseases, tobacco and smoking cessation, infant care, child development, nutrition, parenting, family violence and personal growth. Many of these materials are available in Spanish and some are available in Southeast Asian languages.
Agencies may borrow videos and DVDs on many of the topics listed above. Other materials available for loan include audiotapes, posters and displays, anatomical models,
and teaching kits. A large library of professional books and journals is maintained as a resource for ongoing staff development.
A full-time Resource Center Manager is available by appointment for consultation on the selection and use of materials to meet the needs of specific clients and groups. You may also request brochure samples for specific topics before you place your order.
Before placing an initial order, contact the Resource Center Manager to determine whether your program is eligible to receive these free materials.
All Resource Center materials are listed in an annotated catalog that is updated and distributed on an annual basis. Download the catalogue here.
