Philadelphia, PA – Mary Kargbo, CEO of Berks Community Health Center, has been elected Board Chairperson of the Health Federation of Philadelphia (HFP).  Her first three-year term as HFP Chair began in 2018.  She will be up for reelection in 2021.

Monica Sullivan (MEd.), a program manager and senior training specialist for HFP, recently became certified to use the Community Resilience Model in training sessions across the region. The Community Resilience Model (CRM®) is a skills-based training focused on trauma and resilience.

December 12, 2016, Philadelphia, PA – Since the 2017 open enrollment period began on November 1 for Affordable Care Act coverage in the Health Insurance Marketplace, staff members from the Health Federation of Philadelphia (HFP) have helped over 585 people enroll with health insurance services, through the Marketplace or Medicaid.

Fourteen communities from across the country now have an opportunity to expand their innovative work in addressing childhood adversity through a new project launched by The Health Federation of Philadelphia, with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and The California Endowment.

A recent CDC report showed that Philadelphia had the highest rate of vaccination among teen girls for the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) out of 62 metropolitan areas surveyed, with 80.3% of girls ages 13-17 having received at least one vaccination and 59.3% having received all three recommended shots.
